The museum was created by the initiative of three culturated Cortonese brothers, Marcello, Ridolfino and Filippo Venuti, founders of the Etruscan Academy, who gathered in this seat a rich archaeological collection and an important library, both gifts of their uncle Onofrio Baldelli, for the cultural promotion of the Etruscan Academy. The area stretching from Valdichiana to the Casentino area until the town of Cortona is the location of the "Terre di Arezzo" wine route, which is over 125 miles long. This area has always been characterized by a large production of different types of wines, many of which receive 'DOC', 'DOCG' and 'IGT' certifications every year. Among the grapevines that are picked and distilled in this area are: Chianti, Chianti colli aretini, Colli Etruria Centrale, Valdichiana, Cortona and Vinsanto del Chianti. Red, white and dessert wines are produced and bottled in the wine territories around Arezzo. They are mostly noble wines, with a medium alcoholic content, and can be drunk young or preserved in time.

It is a few kilometers from centers of artistic interest and international culture in Florence, Siena, Perugia, and Arezzo. Inside the the 30,000 sq. m. park there is a hundred year old red wood (sequoia) tree that dominates the Italian gardens that are lined with spaces and relaxing paths. This four star hotel consists of three independent residential units: the central villa dating back to 1700 with the attached private chapel, and the two side annexes- Il Villino and La Limonaia. By plane: Leonardo da Vinci in Rome Fiumicino and A.Vespucci in Firenze Peretola. Once there, you can easily take a train or rent a car. With a shuttle train from the airports you get directly to the train station in Rome and Firenze, and then just follow the next directions. If you want to rent a car, once out of the airports, follow the directions for the A1 Firenze-Roma motorway, then follow the next directions. By train: From your departing station, take the first train to Arezzo and then the first local train to Cortona-Camucia station. By car: -To reach Cortona driving on the Autostrada del Sole motorway (A1) (both northbound and southbound), -exit at the Valdichiana toll-gate and get on the Siena-Perugia speedway going towards Perugia. -Get off the motorway at the Cortona-San Lorenzo exit. - At the stop sign take a right turn and keep driving towards Cortona, -drive past Camucia and follow the signs for Cortona. - Climbing up the hill, go along after driving past the Cortona town-limit sign, - keep driving about 500 m and arrive in P.zza Mazzini, - turn right into the Colonia gate, and after 200 m. (via Dardano n°6) on the left you find Le Gelosie.
