We have recreated the spirit of the surrounding area in our bedrooms using chestnut wood, natural local stone and bright glass, which encourage relaxation. All our rooms have large wardrobes and DVD player. The standard supply also includes a “wellness basket”, with towels and a soft dressing gown.

Franz Tauber was one of the first wine waiters in Alto Adige. He transmitted his passion for fine cuisine and precious wines to the whole family, which became one of Unterwirt’s strengths.

Velturno (850 m), a mountain location in a sunny position halfway between Chiusa and Bressanone, is one of the most loved tourist destinations in the Val d'Isarco. The charming town, with its hotels rich in tradition, gothic churches and a crenellated Renaissance castle dating back to 1577, has ancient origins. Now, in what was the summer residence of the princes/bishops of Bressanone, modern culture has merged with ancient traditions for concerts and performances in the open air, creating a unique experience every time. Straight above Unterwirt Hotel is Velturno’s Renaissance castle. The Alpine huts on the surrounding mountains are excellent destinations for excursions.

Closest motorway exit: Chiusa After leaving the motorway at the exit Chiusa please drive onto your right side over the bridge. Turn off left immediately and after 10 meters right for about 3,5 km until you reach Velturno. There, you only turn right twice. Or: connection via Bressanone (22 km from the exit of Chiusa)
